Students in District 17's elementary schools are connecting with children all over the United States and the World!
KES second graders recently shared information about poetry and our school with 2nd grade students in New Jersey. Using Google Hangouts, we learned with and from our new friends in New Jersey. It was another great distance learning experience!

Second Graders in Mrs. Formica's and Mrs. Drejer's classes at Haddam Elementary School spent many weeks researching winter holidays, including Diwali, Hannukah, Kwanzaa and Christmas in France, Holland and Mexico. They used web sites and videos to gather information and take notes. On December 10th, students Skyped with 9-year-old Evan Morales and his mom Diana, who live in Paris, France. They had a lot of questions based on their research.
Mrs. Lomazzo's 1st graders and Mrs. Honious's 2nd graders Skyped with students in Seattle, Washington and Corbin, Kentucky. They shared dots, read a story, and sang a Dot Day song. |
First and second graders at KES recently Skyped with students in Kentucky, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Seattle, Washington! We shared about our school and our state, and we also shared the Dots we created in celebration of International Dot Day. Students prepared for Dot Day by reading The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds during Library class and then creating dots with Mrs. Kelsey in Art class and Senora Cardona in Spanish class. It was wonderful connecting with students in other parts of our country!
